Here is my follow up to my blog of February 27, found right here.
I also sum up the last week of the amazing Ukrainian victory over the Mongol-Semite hordes led by “Putin.”
I was feeling exasperated last week over the failure to get more than a few dozen views for any of my brilliant essays. I complained about it in the opening of the above blog and committed to making an all out effort to break through The Shadow and get some readers for it.
I almost fell out of my chair the next morning when I looked at the stats page. It seems it is indeed possible under some circumstances to break through The Shadow, to defeat ‘The Algorithms.’ The next question is, can it be done consistently.
I even got a few comments. None were hostile. One was actually coherent. I have even gained a few followers and some look like they might be actual people.
But views for that article are now up to 800; ten times more than anything else I ever wrote. They have slowed off but are still coming in fairly steady. What is really interesting is that almost nothing came from search engines.
The biggest source was twitter. It seems posting the whole thing as a thread and being an obnoxious drum banger about it is effective. A lot came in from other politics related web sites I follow, and where I dropped the link in the comments boxes.
Much came in from strange sources. Some was from Facebook even though I do not do Facebook. A lot was from disq.us. I got a lot from strange places like Kuwait, Laos, and Angola. It puzzles me that nothing at all came in from Russia or Ukraine.
This boom did not carry over to my other work. A few days later I put up something about the problems with launching a women’s ice hockey league in North America. It attracted my usual two dozen pairs of eyeballs. It will be instructive to see now this piece makes out.
I do worry about getting my Twitter account shut down. A lot of what I put out is downright seditious and bolshie. Perhaps the censors do not pick it up because I bury my most radical rumbles inside discussions of tamer topics. Or, I express it as allegorical fiction.
All my favourite political and war follower blogs have stayed up so far. Escobar has been taken down many times but he has dozens of sites republishing his stuff. You just have to track him down.
I am disappointed that my cable outlet pulled Russia Today wth no warning and then RT America shut down abruptly. It was almost the only news show on cable that was watchable anymore. Even CBC is now total garbage in its international coverage.
There is still China Global, which has been improving. I can still get RT World over net, but without some of my favourite shows. I will miss Lee Camp and company the most. The picture will be smaller until I do something to upgrade my communications setup.
That is how it will go. The world is changing. It is starting to change very fast. But it is changing faster in Ukraine than anywhere right now.
Russia is massively losing the propaganda war in Atlantic countries. But it is massively winning the war on the ground in Ukraine. There is more red on South Front’s map every day.
Ukraine has now lost forty percent of its territory and seventy five percent of its army. What is left of its army is no longer capable of maneuver and is mostly locked up in “cauldrons”; encircled by Russian and Donbass militia forces. The Russians have left “green corridors” open to allow civilians to leave the cauldrons before they start turning up the temperature.
However, the “UkroNazis” are doing what U.S. trained proxy forces do; they are refusing to let civilians leave, using them as humans shields, and killing anyone trying to get away. They are thoroughly destroying any infrastructure they have to abandon and sowing mines and booby traps. This is exactly like the Syrian and Chechen wars.
It is becoming clear that there is no government in Ukraine which can negotiate a surrender. The comedy actor president had fled to Lviv in the far east, strongly Galician part of the country. Now he is thought to be hiding in the American embassy in the Polish capital.
As of this writing there have been two rounds of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia on the Polish/Belarus border. Since at least two of the delegates from the Ukrainian side have been murdered by the UkroNazi militias and several others threatened, it is questionable that there will be a third round.
The Russian army has now paused operations to rest and regroup. Soon they will begin the next stage of their operation; the dirty and dangerous business of separating the civilian population from the Ukrainian military forces, then separating the hapless conscripts of the Ukraine regular army from the UkroNazi battalions. The regular Ukrainian army troops will be allowed to go home. The UkroNazis will be going to a jail or a grave.
The Russian Amy has experience at this kind of operation. It will be a grim job that involves accepting higher casualties in order to minimize civilian casualties, rather than just making maximum use of their firepower. They will clean up the south first and then move north.
That is the reality on the ground as of this writing. Despite the efforts to censor the internet, the truth keeps popping up and is available to anyone who can bother to look for it. It is always easy to tell which side of a conflict is being truthful.
This is what makes establishment media coverage of the war, and most internet commentary from inside that distorted reality, so shameful. It seems that a large part of the population have lost the ability to think. Even those who do seem to just not want to be stuck in pointless debates with brainless people, or be subject to personal attacks.
Yet outside the reality distortion field, throughout the world, people understand what is going on. Generally, people are not gloating that the arrogant empire, and the creepy fascists it has nurtured, are getting their asses kicked. People know how grim this can get for the people of Ukraine, and for the Russian soldiers on the ground.
Sane people know how dangerous this situation is. However, I must say here that I am not one of these people who get some kind of gratification from this “two minutes” to midnight cult. In fact, the danger of a nuclear war is becoming less all the time.
There is a very simple reason for that. The Russians have now developed such a technical edge in these kinds of weapons as to eliminate the possibility of a successful first nuclear strike by the Americans. This seems to be a big reason why Russia is acting now after delaying so long.
There are other hazards, such as the lunatics in Washington and Brussels letting UkroNazis, or other terrorist mercenaries they are bringing in, get their hands on chemical or biological weapons. There are bioweapons research labs in Ukraine.
There are also nuclear reactors in Ukraine; anyone remember Chernobyl? It would be a great stunt for some band of dead ender UkroNazis to take over one of these plants and create a meltdown and radioactive cloud.
Something like this has nearly happened already. They started shooting with artillery at the outlying buildings of a plant which the Russian army had already occupied, with the apparent idea of taking it back. They were deterred. Western media spun this story as the Russians army shelling the plant.
There is one somewhat encouraging story coming out of Ukraine and related to nuclear plants. A detachment of the Ukraine regular army guards the Chernobyl site. A nuclear meltdown occurred there in 1986 and almost rendered half of Europe uninhabitable.
The area around will be uninhabitable for a millennium. The original reactor is still radiating under a massive concrete seal and radioactive materials are stored nearby. So when the Russian army showed up, instead of fighting them the Ukrainians shook hands and agreed to patrol the site together.
The typical Ukrainian soldier would by now have realized that there is no longer any government for him to serve. He would prefer to shake hands with a Russian and go home. However, he probably has a lunatic with Nazi symbols tattooed all over himself pointing a gun at his back and howling “Glory to Heroes” and “Death to Moskals.”
Thus it is that most of the world would much prefer a new government in Ukraine. There are plenty of public demonstrations of this sentiment in most parts of the world. National governments must be more discreet; they do not want to annoy the USA/NATO power too much just yet.
However, most of the world is now determined that the USA must no longer run the world’s finance and trade systems and alternatives are rapidly coming into place. Further, the kinds of economic “sanctions” the USA and European Union are using to try to damage the Russian economy are rebounding against them. They will hurt the Europeans far more than the Russians.
The western governments and their brainwashed publics are trapped inside their own propaganda bubble and cannot see their loss of power. The bubble will likely pop in the next year or two when the economic consequences of losing both the economic and the proxy military war with Russia hit home.
Canada will not be immune to these effects. They likely will not effect us as badly as most Atlantic countries because we are at a little distance from it. They will still be a surprise to the Canadian public and Governments because we are as clueless and trapped in the propaganda bubble as anywhere.
I had some modest success in punching through the shadow banning protecting this false reality, with the first article I did on this topic. I will see if I can continue the trend.
Even if I can only get a handful of readers, I will keep going. I would like to go deeper into the economic consequences of the war. I am also thinking of how best to respond to this “Putin is imperialist, invasion is illegal, unjustified, blather, blather, blather…”
I will only be stopped if they shut off my internet platforms altogether. I am not sure what would trip that off. “Bweep! Bweep! Putin Agent! Putin Agent! Neutralize Immediately!”
